RETURN TO CRICKET ROADMAP

The ECB have identified five steps for the recreational game’s proposed phased return in England this summer. England is currently in Step 3, which allows for small group training sessions of up to six people while respecting social distancing.
As cricket is a non-contact sport that involves individual disciplines within a team environment, forms of the game can be played while respecting social distancing.

Cumbria Cricket will continue to work with the ECB on a safe return to the game, led by UK government’s advice. We will only move to Step 4 when government guidance allows, and when it is medically safe to do so.

If you have any queries or concerns, or need any support, please contact Bob - bob.simpson@cumbriacricket.co.uk

LIAM LIVINGSTONE Q&A

We were very grateful to Liam Livingstone for taking part in our Q&A this week!

There were some brilliant questions and Liam gave us all a great insight into the life and career of a professional cricketer.

We intended to share the recording, but unfortunately we only captured the last four minutes - another tech lesson learnt! That snippet is on our Facebook page if you want to see what you missed!

More Q&A’s are in the pipeline, including one with a prominent female player, so stay tuned to our social pages for news on upcoming events.

LORD'S TAVERNERS SUPER 1's
Staying Active from Home

Back in April, Lord's Taveners launched an online hub to help Super 1's participants stay active at home. These activities include:
#Wicketz
#Super1s
#TableCricket
New activities are added week, and they're asking people to send in their pictures and videos using #CouchCricket.

Please share with anyone who might find this helpful, and on your clubs social pages.

WESTMORLAND LEAGUE SUPPORT

Cumbria Cricket have been supporting Westmorland Cricket League’s drive to find out what their member clubs want to play if cricket restarts this season.

Bob Simpson has taken part in three Zoom meetings with Westmorland's Division 1 Clubs over the past two weeks, with another meeting taking place on Wednesday.

Bob said: "It’s been great to see the league and clubs being proactive through engaging players, members, volunteers and their and innovative thoughts and passion to get back playing."

If any other clubs or leagues would like support to engage their members please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

THE ECB WANT TO HEAR YOUR NEWS!
We want to make sure that we're shouting about all the good news and wonderful activities coming out of Cricket Clubs all across Cumbria, and the ECB are also looking for stories from our network for the Through This Test Together campaign, which focuses on the following themes:
Support for Children & Young People
Food Provision
Mental Wellbeing
Physical Wellbeing
Fundraising

So please keep sharing your news and events, which we're always happy to promote. However, we don't always spot everything on social media so please flag anything we can share directly to Bob - bob.simpson@cumbriacricket.co.uk

Thank you again for all your great work.

Best wishes
Cumbria Cricket Team
