Over the last 3 weeks we have busy tidying up the damage, making repairs and collating quotes to replace damaged items.

The response from the community has been remarkable. The generosity and goodwill generated by this event has been truly humbling for everyone connected with the club. We thank each and every person that has helped in anyway, whether that be cleaning up, donating to the fund, businesses offering free materials and free labour or volunteers helping to plan the recovery.

The online donation fund will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 3rd August. We will then confirm the total amount raised and outline our plans to invest every penny of the donations in projects to improve our facilities for the community.

Below is just a selection of comments that we have received from individuals and businesses that have donated to our online ground and vandalism fund.

Well done to you and the club staff for a sterling recovery effort.

Delighted by the response across the town and beyond.

It’s great to hear that so many have pulled together to help. It makes me feel proud to live in the community we do!

More than happy to be a small cog in what has turned out to be a large wheel of helpers.

I hope it goes at least a little way to help with the repairs.

Thrilled that the response has been so good.

Shout up if we can do anything to help.

It was the least I could do as the club has provided me with so many happy memories over the years since I was 11 years old.

We are pleased to see that you have had a great response to the damage caused and that the community spirit is still alive.

I know it wasn’t a lot, but it might go some way to helping with the repairs.

Great to hear of the widespread and generous support for the Club.

I am pleased that things seem to be working out well and many clouds do have a silver lining!

For a club which does so much for the community this vandalism is gutting particularly for those of you who put so much time and effort into making the club the success it is. Incidents like this don't belong in communities like ours but regrettably they are now becoming more commonplace. I know that, through the efforts of all at the club, you will soon put this behind you and move on and continue to build on its proud position as one of the leading sports clubs in the County.

To the people of Penrith and beyond, a very heartfelt thank you from everyone at PCC?
